Job summary

Canopy Roots is partnering with the Metropolitan Council to operate a Metro Transit Community Response Team (CRT) in the Twin Cities. As a Mobile Responder, you will engage riders across buses, light rail, and transit hubs, providing immediate care, de-escalation, and resource referrals.

This part-time role requires compassionate presence, relationship-building, and cultural responsiveness, with a starting wage of $26.85–$31.65 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, public health, or related field; OR associate degree with relevant experience; OR equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site, in-the-moment support to riders on buses and trains using trauma-informed de-escalation techniques.

Skills

Engagement with vulnerable populations

Trauma-informed care

Communication in fast-paced settings

Ability to operate a company van

Comfort on buses/trains and transit

Education

Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, public health, or related field

Associate's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience

Certified Peer Support Specialist / Psychiatric Technician / equivalent
