Job summary

Ramos CS, now a part of Colliers Engineering & Design, is actively hiring an Assistant Resident Engineer to perform a wide variety of professional engineering work on a transit capital program covering rail and bus construction scopes.

The role supports the Resident Engineer in contract administration, field inspections, and coordination across disciplines to minimize impact on active service. A Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, EIT/CCM/PE, and 5+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Engineering background in transit/rail projects.
• Experience reading and interpreting plans, specs, and contracts.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Observe contractor operations and traffic conditions; recommend corrective action to the Resident Engineer.
• Review contractor operations for OSHA and safety requirements in transit environments.
• Direct field staff to ensure complete, accurate contract records and documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors on plans compliance and quality of work.
• Perform field inspections to verify adherence to plans and specs.
• Prepare reports and incorporate daily inspection notes.
• Maintain project records and ensure compliance with policies.
• Calculate field quantities for payments and tracking.
• Support as-built documentation of constructed facilities.
• Monitor schedule and budget; report to the Resident Engineer.
