Job summary

Ramos CS, now a part of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a Resident Engineer to oversee a transit capital program in Washington. The role involves contract administration, field inspections, and coordination across disciplines to ensure schedule and budget adherence.

Requires a Civil Engineering degree, PE in WA, and 15+ years of transit/rail construction management experience, including projects over $100M. Excellent English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience as Resident Engineer or Construction Manager on large public works projects.
• Strong reading/writing English for communications and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Ensures safety of workers and the traveling public by observing operations and taking corrective action.
• Reviews contractor operations for OSHA compliance and safety requirements.
• Maintains complete project records—progress, budgets, expenditures, and invoices.
• Prepares contract change orders and documents rationale for changes.
• Coordinates with transit operations, maintenance, signals, track, and systems disciplines.
• Reviews CPM schedules and identifies project risks with mitigation.
• Completes daily diary of contractor activities and communications.
• Supports resolution of disputes and escalates unresolved issues to senior management.
