Job summary

Ramos CS, now part of Colliers Engineering & Design, is hiring an Assistant Resident Engineer for a transit program in Seattle, WA. You will support the Resident Engineer in administering construction contracts, review progress and compliance, and help prepare change orders and project documentation.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, EIT/CCM/PE where applicable, and about 5+ years of construction management experience on transit projects. Strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • EIT certification, CCM, or PE license required; Washington PE preferred; out-of-state licenses considered.
  • Approximately 5+ years of experience in construction management of transit/rail/transport projects.
  • Experience supporting Resident Engineer or Construction Manager on Public Works projects.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for communications and instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Support safety oversight of Authority and public; observe contractor operations and recommend corrective action.
  • Review contractor operations for OSHA and safety requirements near active transit operations.
  • Assist in maintaining contract records: progress, expenditures, budgets, work orders.
  • Coordinate with contractors on plans, quality of work, and construction activity.
  • Perform field inspections to verify compliance with plans and specs; document findings.
  • Prepare reports and compile daily field inspection diaries; ensure timely documentation.
  • Monitor project schedule and budget; assist in change order preparation and responses.
  • Coordinate with transit operations, maintenance, signals, track, and systems to minimize service impact.
