Job summary

Ramos Consulting Services, now part of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer for a transit capital program covering rail and bus construction. This role supports the Resident Engineer in contract administration, ensures compliance with plans, and helps with change orders and documentation for safety and quality.

Opportunity to work in field or office settings in the Western United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Washington PE preferred; out of state licenses may be considered on a case by case basis.
• Approximately 5+ years of experience in Construction Management of transit, rail, or transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Supports safety oversight of Authority, State, and Contractor employees as well as traveling public by observing operations and recommending corrective action.
• Reviews contractor operations for compliance with OSHA regulations and Authority safety requirements.
• Maintains complete project records, contract documents, and daily diaries to document progress and interactions.
• Prepares reports and reviews daily inspection reports from Field Inspectors to document contractor activities.
• Coordinates with transit operations, maintenance, signals, track, and systems disciplines to sequence construction activities with minimal service impact.
