Job summary

Sound Transit seeks a senior civil engineering leader to guide the delivery of major light rail, heavy rail, and bus projects within the Capital Delivery Department. You will oversee large design consultant teams and coordinate with Operations, Engineering, Safety, and other stakeholders to ensure quality and value in design.

The role emphasizes leadership, project and contract management, and collaboration across multiple disciplines to meet agency goals and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Five years of civil engineering/architectural design and construction experience with project and contracts management.
• Three years of leadership, budgetary, planning and workforce management experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, coaches, trains and motivates staff.
• Supports workforce planning for Infrastructure Engineering division.
• Manages design and construction of transit-related civil engineering projects with multiple teams.
• Administers contracts including reviews, budgets, schedules and risk assessments.
• Negotiates formal agreements and permits with third parties and agencies.
