Job summary

Sound Transit is seeking a senior civil engineering leader to oversee delivery of major rail and bus projects in a hybrid work environment in Seattle, WA. The role requires directing large design teams, coordinating with operations, safety and quality staff, and ensuring value and quality of design.

The position emphasizes leadership, project management, and compliance with state and federal regulations, with a 5-year term in the Capital Delivery Department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Five years of civil engineering/architectural design and construction experience.
• Three years of leadership, budgetary, planning and workforce management experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, coaches, trains and motivates staff.
• Supports workforce planning for Infrastructure Engineering division.
• Manages complex civil engineering design and coordination across multiple design teams.
• Administers engineering consultant contracts, including reviews, schedules and budgets.
• Plans and negotiates formal agreements with third parties and agencies.
• Provides design support during construction and change management.
