Job summary

Sound Transit in Seattle invites experienced engineers to join our design leadership team, guiding in-house and on-call consultants on small capital projects. You will mentor staff, supervise design deliverables, and ensure conformance to agency standards, safety, and budget constraints.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least five years in rail or transit environments, strong leadership and root-cause analysis skills, and the ability to coordinate with project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of five years of experience in engineering in a rail or transit-related environment.
• Design management experience is preferred.
• Three years of leadership, budgetary, planning and workforce management experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads, coordinates, schedules, assigns, and reviews the work activities of agency Engineering Service Requests.
• Manages, directs, mentors, and coordinates the design to ensure project needs are met.
• Oversees assembly of design calculations, plans, and specifications in collaboration with construction management.
• Oversees the root cause analyses (RCA) for significant incidents and functional issues.
