Job summary

Sound Transit is seeking a Design Manager to lead delivery of design elements for rail and bus projects within the Capital Delivery Department. You will oversee design consultant teams, coordinate with Operations, Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Safety, and IT, and ensure value and quality of design for the agency’s portfolio.

Based in Seattle, the role partners with Senior Design leadership on multiple projects, including East Link and West Link extensions, with hybrid in-office

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Five years of experience in civil/structural design and construction.
• Three years of leadership, budgeting, planning, and workforce management.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design teams and coordinate across disciplines.
• Manage design consultant contracts, scopes of work, and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with policies, deliverables, and milestones; support construction phase.
• Represent the agency in meetings and stakeholder engagements.
