Job summary

Block by Block is seeking a Transit Ambassador to support riders on MBTA platforms in a fast-paced environment. You will greet passengers, help them navigate the system, and explain fare options while maintaining a positive, safety-focused presence.

The role requires strong communication skills, at least one year in hospitality or customer service, and the ability to stand for long periods. Union benefits and comprehensive coverage are included.

Qualifications

• Must have at least one year experience in hospitality or customer service.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Maintains high visibility on platforms and entrances to engage riders.
• Assists passengers by navigating the MBTA system and fares.
• Deploys bridge plates and remains courteous and safety-focused at all times.
• Communicates transit information and policies to riders clearly and accurately.
• Reports unsafe activities to transit police and authorities as needed.
• Serves as a deterrent with a visible uniformed presence on the platform.
• Follows emergency protocols and assists in alarm activation when required.
• Uses station iPad, client phone, and radio to report activities.
