Job summary

Block by Block in Saint Paul, MN is hiring Metro Transit Safety Ambassadors to patrol downtown transit hubs by foot, assist riders, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards. Shifts include 1st and 2nd, with a dedicated uniform and comprehensive benefits package.

The role emphasizes visible presence, reporting of issues, and delivering courteous service to the public, contributing to a safe, welcoming environment for commuters and visitors.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred; we will train.
• Must have a HS Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to walk or traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions (free uniforms provided).
• Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide directions and customer assistance at transit platforms.
• Identify and address litter, vandalism, graffiti, and code violations; report promptly.
• Maintain a visible foot patrol to ensure safety, cleanliness and accessibility.
• Deliver professional, courteous, and approachable customer service to park users.
• Serve as the face of the transit system and foster a welcoming atmosphere.
