Job summary

60287 WI ACL Laboratories – AMC St Lukes: Lab is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Technician to join the transfusion and general lab teams. The role requires an associate degree, certification within 1 year, and a willingness to work 2nd and 3rd shifts up to 3 evenings per 2-week period.

You will perform and monitor tests, ensure quality, and support critical departments such as the ED, ICU and OR. Training is provided, with some weekend and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate's Degree in Clinical Lab Technician or related field.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
• Maintains patient confidentiality in and out of the workplace.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including alternate site assignment.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests within established protocols.
• Monitors workflow and adjusts to complete work in a timely manner.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance, validity and appropriateness.
• Follows policy for reporting and notification of test results.
• Maintains calibration and quality control of instruments and equipment.
• Performs internal and external proficiency testing as required.
• Assists phlebotomists and support staff; provides technical support.
• Ensures compliance with accrediting standards and CAP requirements.
• Supports transfusion services across departments during high acuity events.
