Job summary

Hyosung HICO, Ltd. in Memphis, TN is seeking a Test Lab Engineer to perform testing of power transformers as finished products and in-process.

The role involves planning tests, directing test equipment fabrication, and coordinating calibration and data reduction to ensure conformance to specs. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 2-5 years of transformer testing experience, strong QA knowledge, and willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• 2-5 years of relevant transformer testing experience is required.
• Broad knowledge of QA and Manufacturing procedures.
• Knowledge of electrical power tests such as resistance, insulation tests, power-factor, impedance, and related tests.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally and communicate with others to complete work.

Responsibilities

• Plans and administers environmental, operational, or performance tests on PTD products and systems.
• Designs and directs engineering and technical personnel in fabrication of testing equipment and control apparatus.
• Coordinates and directs testing activities including calibration and installation of instruments and data acquisition systems.
• Reviews customer test specifications and implements appropriate product testing to meet requirements.
• Ensures testing equipment and processes conform to specifications and makes necessary adjustments.
• Lead for customer testing and maintain positive customer relations.
