Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Colorado is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead transformer service projects from initiation to closure. You will develop plans, coordinate engineers, technicians, and vendors, and manage customer communications to ensure timely delivery and satisfaction.

The role requires 5+ years in project management for transformer services or heavy industrial equipment, PMP or equivalent desirable, and proficiency with MS Project/Primavera.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or related field, or an associate degree with >7 years transformer/substation experience.
• Minimum of five years of project management experience focusing on transformer services or heavy industrial equipment.
• PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
• Experience delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of transformer service projects from initiation through closure.
• Develop project plans including scope, timelines, resources, and budgets.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and third parties.
• Serve as primary customer contact, maintaining communication and expectations.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks with contingency plans.
• Monitor progress, track KPIs, and provide regular management updates.
• Manage budgets, approve expenditures, support cost-effective delivery.
• Support post-project reviews and process/tool improvement in Services Division.
