Job summary

Hitachi Energy in the United States is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead transformer service projects from initiation to closure. You will plan scopes, timelines, resources, and budgets while coordinating engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and vendors.

You will act as the main customer contact and drive risk mitigation and contingency planning. The role requires five years of PM experience in transformer services or heavy industrial equipment, with MS Project or Primavera P6

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, PM, or related field; or an associate degree with 7+ years transformer/substation experience.
• Minimum of five years of experience in project management with a focus on transformer services or heavy industrial equipment.
• Experience delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of transformer service projects from initiation through closure.
• Develop project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and third-party contractors.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, maintaining communication and managing expectations throughout project execution.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues while developing contingency plans.
• Monitor project progress, track KPIs, and provide regular updates to management.
• Manage project budgets, approve expenditures, and support cost-effective project delivery.
• Support post-project reviews and continuous improvement of project management processes and tools within the Services Division.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
