Job summary

Hitachi Energy seeks a Project Manager to oversee transformer service initiatives from planning to completion, coordinating engineers, technicians, vendors, and customers to ensure successful execution.

You will manage scope, timelines, budgets, and risk while driving continuous improvement and maintaining compliance with safety and environmental requirements. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, or an associate degree with more than seven years of experience in the transformer or substation field.
• Minimum of five years of experience in project management with a focus on transformer services or heavy industrial equipment.
• Experience delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of transformer service projects from initiation through closure.
• Develop project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and third-party contractors.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, maintaining communication and managing expectations throughout project execution.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues while developing contingency plans.
• Monitor project progress, track KPIs, and provide regular updates to management.
• Manage project budgets, approve expenditures, and support cost-effective project delivery.
• Support post-project reviews and continuous improvement of project management processes and tools within the Services Division.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
