Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Project Manager to lead transformer service programs in the United States from planning through completion. You will oversee scope, schedules, budgets, vendors, and customer communications, coordinating engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and third-party contractors.

This role requires 5+ years of PM experience in transformer services or heavy industrial equipment, plus strong knowledge of transformer tech, risk management, and project controls.

Qualifications

• Work authorization to work in the United States
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or related field (or associate with 7+ years transformer/substation experience)
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience with transformer services or heavy industrial equipment
• Experience delivering complex projects on time and within budget
• Understanding of transformer technology, maintenance and repair processes preferred
• Proficiency with project management software (MS Project or Primavera P6)
• PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of transformer service projects from initiation through closure
• Develop project plans with scope, timelines, resources, and budgets
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and contractors
• Serve as primary customer contact and manage expectations
• Identify, assess, mitigate risks and develop contingency plans
• Monitor progress, track KPIs, provide updates to management
• Manage budgets, approve expenditures, support cost-effective delivery
• Support post-project reviews and process improvements
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines
