Job summary

Rapides Regional Medical Center is seeking a Transfer Center RN to coordinate admissions and hospital transfers from RRMC. The role requires strong communication with physicians, staff, and families, ensuring efficient bed management and high-quality patient experience.

You will work in a fast-paced transfer center, collaborating with on-call physicians and using clinical protocols to resolve complex transfer needs while maintaining patient care standards and EMTALA compliance.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BCLS certifications required within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN licensure or RN Diploma required.
• Minimum 5 years nursing experience.
• CPR for Healthcare Providers within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate direct admissions and hospital transfers to and from Rapides Regional Medical Center (RRMC).
• Perform bed management duties to optimize patient placement.
• Respond to transfer requests in a customer-centric call center using approved protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure appropriate admissions and smooth transfers.
• Advise on-patient care issues with on-call physicians as needed.
• Maintain awareness of hospital services and programs to support transfers.

Education

RN Registered Nurse license or RN Diploma

ACLS within 30 days of employment start date

BCLS CPR for Healthcare Providers within 30 days of employment start date

5 years nursing experience
