Presbyterian Healthcare Services is hiring a Transfer Center Nurse Specialist in Albuquerque, NM. This part-time position coordinates inpatient bed assignments for critical care patients and streamlines patient transfers from other facilities into Presbyterian.

The role requires 1 year RN experience (OR/transfer center preferred) and an NM or compact-state nursing license, with an emphasis on accurate patient registration and efficient care coordination.

Qualifications

• 1 year RN experience to OR or transfer center experience.
• Associates degree in Nursing required.
• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
• Degree from accredited nursing program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate/inpatient bed assignments for critical care patients.
• Coordinate, prioritize, and optimize patient flow across the hospital network.
• Coordinate and facilitate patient entry from other facilities into Presbyterian.
• Transfer Center Patients and coordinate transfers from other health care facilities.
• Collect clinical information to determine patient level of care.
• Collaborate with on-call physicians to arrange acceptance by attending physicians.
• Communicate with referring hospitals to arrange transportation and bed assignment.
• Ensure safe and timely placement of patients based on admission status and care level.
• Register patients accurately in the hospital system and ensure data completeness.
• Maintain high compliance rate for critical registration elements (demographics, guarantor, insurance).
• Document missing information in the hospital registration system per Revenue Cycle policies.
