Job summary

Phoenix Children's seeks a Patient Placement Coordinator (RN) to be the voice and guide for families and providers seeking admission or transfer information. The role requires 2–3 years ER nursing experience and an active RN license; you will direct patients to the appropriate resources and coordinate across departments to facilitate throughput.

You will manage bed boards, escalations, and admission schedules, working with nursing units, EVS, case management, and admitting to ensure timely

Qualifications

• RN license required to practice in the hospital setting.
• Minimum 2–3 years of ER nursing experience for effective triage and guidance.
• Excellent communication with families, providers and hospital teams.

Responsibilities

• Manages direct admissions and transfers, coordinating provider communication.
• Collects intake data from ED, physician offices, clinics, and referring facilities.
• Coordinates MD-to-MD acceptance calls and documents them with a focus on quality.
• Collaborates with Nursing and clinical ops to facilitate patient access and throughput.
• Acts as a role model for Family Centered Care and exceptional customer service.
• Supports process improvement and tracks barriers to patient flow.
