KellyMitchell is seeking a Transactional Messaging Specialist for a 12-month contract in New York, NY. • Partner with Product, Marketing, Localization, Data, and Engineering teams to gather requirements and develop messaging solutions
• Work with JSON and dynamic data integrations to support personalized and transactional communications
• Translate approved designs into production‑ready email experiences
• Perform self‑QA, peer‑review QA, marketer UAT, and post‑deployment monitoring to identify and resolve issues
• Troubleshoot email rendering, formatting, dark mode, dynamic content, and other messaging issues across environments
• Support messaging platform migrations, modular email frameworks, experimentation, reporting, and continuous optimization

Job Summary

Our client, a leading global media and entertainment company, is seeking a Transactional Messaging Specialist to join their team! This position is a 12-month contract opportunity located in New York, New York. This role is hybrid, with 4 days onsite and 1 day remote per week. The Transactional Messaging Specialist will support high-volume transactional messaging across global streaming platforms, including commerce, identity, billing, compliance, and customer-facing communications. This individual will work hands‑on across the messaging lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through development, QA, deployment, monitoring, and optimization.

Core Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, test, and deploy transactional email solutions using HTML and template scripting
• Partner with Product, Marketing, Localization, Data, and Engineering teams to gather requirements and develop messaging solutions
• Work with JSON and dynamic data integrations to support personalized and transactional communications
• Translate approved designs into production‑ready email experiences
• Perform self‑QA, peer‑review QA, marketer UAT, and post‑deployment monitoring to identify and resolve issues
• Troubleshoot email rendering, formatting, dark mode, dynamic content, and other messaging issues across environments
• Support messaging platform migrations, modular email frameworks, experimentation, reporting, and continuous optimization

Required Skills/Experience

• 5+ years of experience in marketing operations, messaging operations, analytics, or a related applied role
• 3+ years of experience working within or supporting Agile teams
• Strong hands‑on HTML email development experience
• Experience working with JSON, dynamic data payloads, and data‑driven messaging
• Hands‑on experience with Handlebars or comparable template scripting languages
• Experience developing and troubleshooting transactional email across different environments and devices
• Ability to translate designs and requirements into production‑ready messaging solutions

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Adobe, or comparable enterprise messaging platforms
• Experience translating Figma designs into production‑ready email code
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Experience with Jira and Airtable
• Experience supporting high‑volume transactional messaging within streaming, subscription, e‑commerce, or digital consumer environments
• Experience with experimentation, messaging analytics, and performance optimization

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $35.00 and $50.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
