Job summary

The SF LGBT Center is seeking an Employment Services Specialist to deliver job search, case management, and placement support for transgender and LGBTQ clients with barriers to employment. You will work 1:1 and in groups, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to remove barriers and improve outcomes.

You will co-create Individual Employment Plans, conduct assessments, and lead workshops on resume writing, interviewing, and job readiness while maintaining confidentiality and

Qualifications

• Cultural humility and commitment to transgender community.
• Experience in workforce development or employment services for adults.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle paperwork accurately.
• Strong communication and public speaking skills.
• Knowledge of local resources and employment laws for trans communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 career services and group sessions focusing on barrier removal, life skills, and job readiness.
• Conduct assessments and determine program eligibility and referrals.
• Assist clients in setting and achieving employment objectives.
• Create Individual Employment Plans and support plan implementation.
• Maintain client files and document employment and retention outcomes.
• Coordinate job search workshops and life skills classes for LGBTQ community members.
• Support career fairs and employment events.
