Job summary

Easterseals is seeking a Training Specialist to oversee all training for the Residential and Education Program, including onboarding for new hires. The role also conducts CPR and Safety Awareness trainings across programs to elevate safety and care standards.

The position emphasizes delivering structured sessions, maintaining training resources, and using Workday Learning and related systems to track progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in education, special education, child development, or related field.
• Two years of experience conducting trainings or workshops preferred.
• Experience in direct care of youth with disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practices in human services preferred.
• Ability to conduct physical interventions.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training in teams or independently, typically 30-35 hours per week.
• Maintain inventory of training supplies and training technology.
• Enter data into Workday Learning and other systems.
• Support onboarding of new employees by facilitating transition from agency onboarding to the program, leading tours, adding new hires to relevant schedules and systems, and other duties as assigned.
• Assist employees to access and complete online learning.
• Observe staff utilization of training department areas of focus to assess curriculum relevance and efficacy.
• Periodically model skills application in the residential and educational environment and provide real-time coaching to employees.

Hours

Full-time, 40 hours; Monday- Friday 8:30am-4:30pm with expectation to be flexible with evenings as needed.

Compensation

$27 to $28 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
