Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks a Training Manager within the Bureau of Customer Services to lead a bureau-wide training program and maintain the Standards of Operations (SOPs) and training materials.

You will manage the Training Team, design curricula based on adult learning and change management, coordinate with SMEs and consultants, and ensure training supports meter-to-cash operations across the bureau.

Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelors with relevant public administration, economics, or related field and required experience.
• Experience developing adult-learning programs, SOPs, and training materials.
• Ability to manage training programs or lead teams and write clearly for diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical and workflow mapping abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Training Team, plan workloads, assign trainers, and ensure delivery quality.
• Develop bureau-wide training anchored to SOPs and operational standards.
• Oversee creation and rollout of trainings with SMEs and consultants.
• Evaluate training effectiveness via feedback, assessments, and performance trends.
• Partner with Directors to identify emerging training needs.
