Job summary

The NYC Department of Social Services seeks an Executive Director, Office of Training Operations, to lead agency-wide training initiatives and ensure staff readiness across DSS/HRA/DHS.

Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner, Training, Workforce Development & Logistical Support & Operations, the role requires strategic planning, program development, and strong leadership to deliver effective staff development.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in economics, finance, public administration or related field and minimum two years supervising staff.
• Alternate: bachelor’s degree with four years of professional experience including supervisory experience.
• Residency requirement for NYC public employees and related guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, coordinate, and administer comprehensive training programs for all staff levels.
• Determine training needs based on policy and procedures; evaluate programs for effectiveness.
• Lead strategic planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and standards for training operations.
• Plan, organize, administer, monitor, and evaluate the program of professional education and development.
• Represent the agency at meetings with executive level staff to align training with agency goals.
• Collaborate with Information Technology Services to develop and implement training technology.
