Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks a dynamic Fleet Strategic & Systems Manager to lead a team responsible for fleet oversight, maintenance, and cost management across the agency. You will drive efficiency, data usage, and regulatory compliance with a focus on safety and reliability.

Reporting and analytics will guide decisions on vehicle acquisition, telematics, and process improvements, while coordinating with internal customers and external partners.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, or related fields with two years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree with four years of professional experience in budget/finance/administration or related areas.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience with at least two years in related areas.

Responsibilities

• Fleet Oversight and Operations: ensure vehicles are available, safe, and reliable.
• Maintenance and Preventive Programs: develop schedules and track costs.
• Cost and Resource Management: analyze costs, fuel usage, and procurement decisions.
• Project Planning and Coordination: plan fleet expansion, technology integration, and coordinate with teams and vendors.
• Technology and Data Management: use fleet management applications and telematics to monitor usage.
• Customer and Stakeholder Coordination: act as central contact for internal customers, partners, and vendors.
• Reporting and KPIs: monitor performance indicators for fleet operations and staff.
• Compliance: ensure safety and training compliance and record-keeping.
