Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking a Trailer Mechanic in Palmetto, GA to perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on trailers and equipment. Under supervision, you will troubleshoot issues and ensure fleet readiness to J.B. Hunt standards.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, repairs to fuel systems, brakes, and transmissions, plus mentoring junior technicians and participating in OE trainings. Shift flexibility and outdoor work are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with 2 years of semi-trailer maintenance/repair or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of DOT/FHWA inspections and air brakes experience.
• Own basic tools or participate in toolbox program.
• Willing to work outdoors and across shifts, including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and standard repairs on trailers.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform intermediate repairs to specs.
• Complete work orders and adhere to SRT and warranty guidelines.
• Assist with onboarding and mentoring trailer technician trainees.
• Participate in OE training for repairs.
• Maintain safety procedures and professional communication with customers.
