Job summary

J.B. Hunt is seeking a Trailer Mechanic II to perform intermediate maintenance and repair on trailers and related equipment. You will troubleshoot issues, complete work orders, and adhere to standard repair times and warranty guidelines while upholding safety standards.

The role supports onboarding trainees and participates in OE training programs, with opportunities for growth within the Maintenance department and a focus on reliable fleet operations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with 2 years of semi-trailer maintenance/repair experience or equivalent education/experience
• At least 1 year of experience in DOT and FHWA inspections and air brakes
• Able to supply basic tools or via toolbox purchase program
• Willingness to work outdoors and across multiple shifts, including nights/weekends

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on trailer equipment per company/manufacturer specs
• Troubleshoot trailer issues and complete work orders with standard repair times and warranty guidelines
• Assist onboarding and mentorship of trainee technicians
• Participate in OE training for repairs
• Maintain safety and professional communication with customers and internal staff
