Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our fleet running smoothly. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and ensure timely repairs to meet safety and service standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on repair, adherence to DOT/OSHA standards, and a willingness to participate in training, with a focus on teamwork and meeting customer delivery commitments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as maintenance technician or equivalent.
• Experience with truck repair and body/frame repair.
• Must provide own tools to perform job duties.
• Ability to read precision instruments and use electronic diagnostic tools.
• Must possess a valid CDL when required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Repair company equipment in a safe, timely, cost effective and practical manner including performing preventative maintenance, general repairs, troubleshooting and electronic diagnostics.
• Build, rebuild and repair all parts of company equipment as necessary.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical or other breakdowns or failures in trucks or related equipment.
• Read precision instruments like micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, voltmeters and digital multimeters.
• Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of component parts and systems on trucks or trailers.
• Weld horizontally and vertically where applicable and follow DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules.
