Job summary

Central Transport is hiring skilled mechanics to maintain our fleet across the United States and Canada. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, trailer and chassis repair, and inspection of braking and steering systems.

We offer industry-leading pay starting at $32/hour, company-paid training, medical and dental coverage, PTO, bereavement and jury duty leave, plus uniforms supplied. ASE certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in mechanical or trailer maintenance.
• Basic set of tools required for maintenance tasks.
• ASE certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services.
• Repair trailers and related equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure proper condition.
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery.
• Repair containers, trailers, and chassis damage as needed.
• Repair tears on container sides and replace lights.
• Handle tire and landing gear repairs and frame repairs.

Responsibilities Include:

• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services


• Repair trailers and related equipment in a timely and efficient manner


• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper working condition


• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery


• Responsible for repairing damage to containers, trailers, and chassis.


• Repairing tears on the sides of containers


• Replacing lights


• Tire repair


• Landing gear repair


• Frame repair
