Job summary

Central Transport is seeking an automotive/mechanic professional to maintain and repair our fleet of tractors, trailers, and forklifts across the United States and Canada. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely repairs to keep our Class 8 fleet in top condition.

The position requires about 1 year of experience and a basic tool set. ASE certification is preferred but not required; company-paid training and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience required for maintenance/repair roles.
• Must have a basic set of hand tools to perform job duties.
• ASE certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on Class 8 tractors and after-treatment systems.
• Repair trucks, trailers, and related equipment in a timely manner.
• Inspect brakes, steering, wheel bearings, and critical components for proper operation.
• Change oil, check batteries, and lubricate equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, and differential issues.

As we continue to expand our network, we are seeking quality mechanics to help maintain our fleet of over 2,200 tractors, 8,500 trailers, and 1,700 forklifts across the United States and Canada.

Responsibilities Include:

• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services such as troubleshooting and repairing electrical and after-treatment systems on our Class 8 tractors.
• Repair trucks, and trailers and related equipment in a timely and efficient manner
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper working condition
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery
• Repairing and troubleshooting of major components such as engine, transmission, and differentials

Job Requirements:

• 1 year of experience
