Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Shop Trailer Mechanic I for an on-site shop role in the New Jersey area. You will perform DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance, and light repairs on trailers, under supervision, in a controlled shop environment.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, a valid CDL/driver's license, and ability to obtain DOT certifications. ASE certifications are a plus, with comprehensive safety training and standard repair times emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and up to 2 years in a related field.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations knowledge and ability to pass DOT pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PM inspections on light to heavy trailers.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks and lubrication.
• Assist in repairs under supervision of higher-level technicians.
• Document work performed and upload RO pictures using company devices.
