Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Shop Trailer Mechanic II for an on-site shop role. You will perform certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs on trailers, engines, and related equipment.

You will assist senior technicians and contribute to maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced shop environment. The position emphasizes adherence to safety standards, proper documentation, and teamwork with service writers.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED with related field experience.
• Must be able to perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Capable of following safety procedures and work instructions.
• Experience with DOT inspections and trailer systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform certified DOT inspections and PM inspections.
• Carry out light repairs and assist in more advanced repairs under supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and proper tool usage.
• Document work performed and parts used on Repair Orders using company devices.
• Interact with Shop Parts Department to obtain needed parts.
• Communicate findings and estimates with shop management and service writers.
