Job summary

Depot Connect International in North Charleston, SC is seeking a DOT inspection certified mechanic with trailer, tank, or chassis experience to join our team. This role focuses on diagnosing failures, performing repairs, and ensuring DOT compliance on tank trailers.

Shift hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with pay ranging from $24.00 to $36.00 per hour based on experience. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k) and paid time off.

Qualifications

• DOT inspection certified mechanic with trailer, tank, or chassis experience.
• Ability to diagnose failures and perform repairs on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs.
• Welding experience (TIG aluminum, stainless or carbon) is optional.
• Ability to inspect tanks and trailers to comply with DOT HM183 standards.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and repair mechanical, electrical, and other tank trailer systems.
• Perform tank service and repair on trailers.
• Install and repair trailer suspensions.
• Inspect tanks and trailers to ensure DOT HM183 compliance.

We are currently searching for DOT inspection certified mechanic with experience working on trailers, tanks or chassis for our N. Charleston South Carolina

Shift Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30AM to 4:30PM

Pay Range: $24.00 to $36.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (optional)
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
