Job summary

Depot Connect International (DCI) seeks a DOT inspection certified mechanic with 3–5+ years of tank trailer repair experience to join our Meriden, CT facility. This role focuses on diagnosing failures, performing repairs across mechanical and electrical systems, and ensuring DOT HM183 compliance.

Welding in TIG aluminum or stainless is a plus. Shift is Monday–Friday, 1st shift, with pay ranging from $22 to $42 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• DOT inspection certified mechanic with 3–5+ years in tank trailer repair.
• Experience diagnosing failures and repairing mechanical, electrical, or related systems on tank trailers.
• Welding experience in TIG aluminum, stainless, or carbon (optional).
• Ability to inspect tanks and trailers to DOT HM183 compliance.

We are currently searching for DOT inspection certified mechanics with 3 to 5+ years of tank trailer repair experience, to join our team in our Meriden, CT facility!

Shift Hours: Monday through Friday 1st shift

Pay Range: $22.00 to $42.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.


• Tank service and repair


• Trailer suspension installation and repair


• Experience with air brake systems and repairs


• TIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (optional)


• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds


• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds


• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole


• Must be able to work in confined spaces
