Job summary

Depot Connect International (DCI) in Portland, OR is seeking a DOT inspection certified trailer mechanic with tank trailer repair experience. The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and tank systems, with emphasis on air brakes and welding (TIG) of aluminum and steel.

The position offers steady shifts Mon-Fri 6:30 AM–3:00 PM and pay range $27–$41/hour, based on experience. DCI provides benefits including medical, dental and vision, 401(k) with match, paid time off

Qualifications

• DOT inspection certification required.
• Tank trailer repair experience required.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and other systems on tank trailers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and repair mechanical/electrical systems on tank trailers.
• Perform tank service and repair and maintain trailer components.
• Install and repair trailer suspension and related systems.
• Work with air brake systems and repairs.
• Weld aluminum and steel using TIG.
• Inspect tanks/trailers to DOT HM183 standards.

Shift Hours

Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM

Pay Range

$27.00 to $41.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG aluminum and steel welding experience
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)

Physical Demands

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
