Job summary

R+L Carriers in Milwaukee, WI seeks a Trailer Mechanic to diagnose, repair and maintain trailers at our service center. Full-time, Monday–Friday with varying shifts and a strong benefits package.

Responsibilities include safety inspections, FMCSA compliance documentation, and using your own tools to restore equipment to spec, while working in diverse climate conditions and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must perform safety inspections and document FMCSA compliance.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and repair specifications.
• Repair or replace defective parts and systems on trailers.
• Test equipment for proper performance to meet specs and regs.
• Experience with trailer PMs and repairs.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must own your own tools and be dependable.
• Able to work in varying climate conditions.

Responsibilities

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Trailer Mechanics at our Milwaukee, WI Service Center. As a Trailer Mechanic, your responsibilities will include the diagnostic process, repair work, and overall maintenance of our trailers.

Requirements

• Experienced in performing safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company, and any other Federal, State, or Local regulations
• Must be able to Interpret technical manuals
• Must have experience in repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems
• Experience in testing equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations
• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must own your own tools
• Must be dependable
• Must be prepared to work in climate situation when needed.

Preferred

• Experience using Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System
• Welding
• Experience driving yard tractor/trailers
• Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles
• Sheet metal and composite panel repair
