Job summary

R+L Carriers is seeking a Trailer Mechanic for our Ellenwood, GA Service Center to diagnose, repair, and maintain trailers, ensuring safety and compliance with FMCSA standards. This full-time position offers Monday–Friday work with 2nd and 3rd shifts.

You will perform safety inspections, interpret technical manuals, replace defective parts, test equipment, and complete preventive maintenance on Class 8 trailers.

Qualifications

• FMCSA safety inspections experience and compliance with regulations.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals.
• Experience repairing or replacing defective parts.
• Experience testing equipment to meet specifications.
• Experience with trailer preventive maintenance.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must own your own tools.
• Must be dependable and reliable.
• Willingness to work in varied climate conditions.

Full-Time, Monday – Friday 2 nd and 3 rd shifts

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Trailer Mechanics at our Ellenwood, GA Service Center. As a Trailer Mechanic, your responsibilities will include the diagnostic process, repair work, and overall maintenance of our trailers.

Requirements

• Experienced in performing safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company, and any other Federal, State, or Local regulations
• Must be able to Interpret technical manuals
• Must have experience in repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems
• Experience in testing equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations
• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must own your own tools
• Must be dependable
• Must be prepared to work in climate situation when needed.

Preferred

• Experience using Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System
• Welding
• Experience driving yard tractor/trailers
• Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles
• Sheet metal and composite panel repair
