Job summary

R+L Carriers in Talmo, GA is seeking a Trailer Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain our trailers at the Talmo service center. This full-time role operates Monday–Friday with 2nd and 3rd shifts.

You will inspect equipment, interpret manuals, perform repairs per manufacturer specs, and work with your own tools. Lifting up to 50 lbs and FMCSA compliance are required.

Qualifications

• Experience performing FMCSA safety inspections and documenting results.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and diagnose trailer issues.
• Experience repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems.
• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs and own your own tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose trailer issues and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain and service trailers to ensure road readiness.
• Perform safety inspections and ensure compliance with regulations.

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Trailer Mechanics at our Talmo, GA Service Center. As a Trailer Mechanic, your responsibilities will include the diagnostic process, repair work, and overall maintenance of our trailers.

Requirements

• Experienced in performing safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company, and any other Federal, State, or Local regulations
• Must be able to Interpret technical manuals
• Must have experience in repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems
• Experience in testing equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations

• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must own your own tools
• Must be dependable
• Must be prepared to work in climate situation when needed.

Preferred

• Experience using Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System
• Welding
• Experience driving yard tractor/trailers
• Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles
• Sheet metal and composite panel repair
