Job summary

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for a Trailer Mechanic at our Burlington Township, NJ Service Center. You will diagnose and repair trailers, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

The position is Full-Time, Monday - Friday with various shifts. PTO after 90 days and a strong benefits package are included, along with a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• FMCSA safety inspections and documentation familiarity.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals.
• Experience repairing or replacing defective parts and systems.
• Experience testing equipment for proper performance and to meet specs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair trailers and perform preventative maintenance.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Operate and test equipment to verify proper function.

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Trailer Mechanics at our Burlington Township, NJ Service Center. As a Trailer Mechanic your responsibilities will include the diagnostic process, repair work, and overall maintenance of our trailers.

Requirements

• Experienced in performing safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company, and any other Federal, State, or Local regulations
• Must be able to Interpret technical manuals
• Must have experience in repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems
• Experience in testing equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations
• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must own your own tools
• Must be dependable
• Must be prepared to work in climate situation when needed.

Preferred

• Experience using Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System
• Welding
• Experience driving yard tractor/trailers
• Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles
• Sheet metal and composite panel repair
