Job summary

R+L Carriers is seeking a Trailer Mechanic at our Otsego, MN Service Center. The role involves diagnostic work, repairs, and comprehensive maintenance of trailers to ensure safety and reliability.

Full-Time, Monday - Friday with various shifts, and opportunities to utilize employee resorts as part of benefits. The position requires FMCSA safety inspection experience, the ability to read manuals, and a track record of dependable performance.

Qualifications

• Experience performing safety inspections and documenting compliance per FMCSA and regulations.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and diagnose trailer systems.
• Experience repairing or replacing defective parts and systems.
• Experience testing equipment to meet manufacturer specs and regulations.
• Experience with trailer PMs and repairs.

Requirements:

• Experienced in performing safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company, and any other Federal, State, or Local regulations
• Must be able to Interpret technical manuals
• Must have experience in repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems
• Experience in testing equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations
• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must own your own tools
• Must be dependable
• Must be prepared to work in climate situation when needed.

Preferred:

• Experience using Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System
• Welding
• Experience driving yard tractor/trailers
• Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles
• Sheet metal and composite panel repair
