Job summary

R+L Carriers is seeking a Trailer Mechanic in Lakeland, FL to diagnose, repair, and maintain trailers at our Lakeland Service Center. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM.

You will perform safety inspections, interpret manuals, replace defective parts, and test equipment to meet manufacturer specs and regulations. Owning your own tools, lifting 50 lbs, and reliability are essential. Experience with Cetaris and welding is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience performing FMCSA safety inspections and documenting compliance.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and repair procedures.
• Experience repairing or replacing defective parts and systems.
• Experience testing equipment to meet specs and regulations.
• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and own your tools.
• Dependable and able to work in varying climates.

Trailer Mechanic - $26.11 - $32.74/hr.

Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 4p to 2:30a.

Earn 1 week of vacation after 90 days of employment and enjoy an excellent benefits package that includes our very own employee resorts.

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Trailer Mechanics at our Lakeland, FL Service Center. As a Trailer Mechanic, your responsibilities will include the diagnostic process, repair work, and overall maintenance of our trailer.

Requirements

• Experienced in performing safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company, and any other Federal, State, or Local regulations
• Must be able to Interpret technical manuals
• Must have experience in repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems
• Experience in testing equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations
• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Must own your own tools
• Must be dependable
• Must be prepared to work in climate situation when needed.

Preferred

• Experience using Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System
• Welding
• Experience driving yard tractor/trailers
• Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles
• Sheet metal and composite panel repair
