Job summary

The Clark County Public Works Department seeks a Traffic Systems Technician Supervisor to lead a team of technicians responsible for the maintenance of traffic signals, school flashers, and activation of new signals. The role includes scheduling, supervising staff, reviewing project prints, and coordinating with contractors to meet county standards.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent with a Diploma in Electronics or Electrical training and five years of relevant experience,

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from high school with electronics or electrical training and five years of skilled full-time experience.
• One year of lead or supervisory experience is required.
• All education and experience must be documented in the application.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of traffic signal technicians.
• Trains staff and provides for professional development; administers discipline as required.
• Reviews prints for traffic signal projects to meet county and legal standards.
• Interfaces with contractors to ensure work meets county specifications.
• Maintains inventory of parts and supplies; requisitions as needed.
• Responds to traffic signal malfunctions and performs repairs.
• Participates in design, layout, modification and installation of traffic control systems.
• Prepares drawings, sketches, and project specifications; estimates materials and costs.
• Performs field and bench tests on electrical and electronic circuitry.
• Maintains signal records and drives county vehicles to sites; uses lift equipment as needed.
