Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from high school and successful completion of an Electronics Technician or Technologist Diploma or Electrical Training Program.
• Five (5) years of skilled full-time experience in the maintenance and repair of electronic and electrical equipment, including one (1) year of full-time lead or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of a group of traffic signal technicians.
• Recommends selection of staff; trains staff and provides for their professional development; administers discipline as required.
• Reviews prints for traffic signal projects and ensures that they meet County and legal standards.
• Interfaces with and reviews contractor work to ensure that work is done to County specifications.
• Maintains an inventory of parts and supplies; requisitions additional as required.
• Responds to traffic signal malfunctions; troubleshoots the problem and effects repairs.
