The Traffic Engineering role focuses on designing signals, roadway lighting, ITS, and corridor-level timing, with field work and client interactions throughout the Southeastern US.

The ideal candidate holds an ABET-accredited engineering degree, 5–10 years of experience, and an active PE license (or EIT with a plan to obtain NC/SC

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, systems, or civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 5–10 years of experience in the specialized discipline.
  • Active PE license for civil candidates; EIT acceptable for non-civil candidates with ability to obtain NC and SC PE within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Traffic signal and roadway lighting design, including CAD and field work.
  • ITS, signal interconnection, and emerging traffic technology design.
  • Signal timing at a corridor level with field-based fine tuning and implementation.
  • Support of traffic safety projects and other Smart Mobility projects.
  • Signal cabinet wiring and signal controller programming.
  • Analyze survey data to plan projects and tasks.
  • Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and ensure design alignment.
