Job summary

The City of Surprise invites applications for a Traffic Signal Systems Analyst who will shape how traffic moves within our fast-growing community. You will analyze real-world conditions, design signal timing, monitor system performance, and support the centralized signal system and Traffic Management Center.

You will collaborate with engineers, technicians, contractors, and partner agencies to implement practical solutions and improve safety and efficiency across the transportation network.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • Three years of technical traffic signal systems experience is required; one year may substitute for each year of education.
  • Must have a valid Arizona Driver License at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate traffic signal operations to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement signal timing and coordination plans.
  • Analyze traffic data and system performance to identify improvements.
  • Support the operation of the City’s centralized traffic signal system and Traffic Management Center.
  • Coordinate with engineering staff, field technicians, contractors, consultants, developers, other agencies, and the public.
