Job summary

SUMMARY

Incumbents manage and supervise as assigned the various divisions in the Transportation Department including but not limited to, streets, traffic engineering, transportation systems maintenance & operations (TSMO), transportation planning, and transportation business administration; perform work in planning, developing, programming, budgeting, designing, and directing transportation plans, transportation capital improvement projects, and lead developer transportation projects. Assist the Director in leading the Transportation Department in various areas, including but not limited to, transportation planning, strategic planning, transportation programs, and emergency/incident response programs.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning or a related field, and five years of related experience in transportation that includes three years of progressively responsible management experience directly related to the area assigned, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license at time of hire.
