Job summary

Clark County is seeking a skilled Traffic Signal Technician to inspect, modify, maintain, and repair street and railroad traffic signal systems and components. The role requires two years of hands-on signal experience and a commitment to earning IMSA Level I certification within one year.

We expect thorough knowledge of traffic control systems and safety procedures, plus the ability to prepare detailed reports, manage inventories, and collaborate with internal and external teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and two years of traffic signal installation, operation and maintenance.
• Must obtain IM SA Level I Certification for Traffic Signal Technician within one year of employment.
• Knowledge of traffic control systems and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to prepare written reports, logs and statistics; review drawings; design traffic signal systems meeting legal/safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate tools, circuit testing equipment and vehicles to install, maintain and repair traffic signal systems.
• Maintain parts inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Locate wiring for street and railroad signals for contractors and utilities.
• Prepare reports and logs on traffic safety data for monitoring programs.
