Job summary

Clayton County Transportation and Development seeks a Signal Technician I to support installation, maintenance, and operation of traffic signal systems and related devices. You will assist with poles, wiring, and conduit, plus basic programming and troubleshooting under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and relevant certificate or experience, with a valid Georgia driver's license. Prior IMSA Level 1 preferred; training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; plus a technical college certificate in a related field.
• 2 years’ experience with hand tools, general construction, and traffic signal maintenance.
• Or 6 years’ experience in the same areas; equivalent combinations accepted.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
• Preferred: Flagman certification and IMSA Level 1 Signal Technician.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, maintenance, and operation of traffic signals and related components.
• Assist with erecting signal poles, wiring, and conduit installation.
• Assist with programming, diagnostics, and repair of signal equipment.
• Read and interpret project plans.
