Job summary

JMT seeks an engineer to contribute to traffic signal design and smart mobility projects, applying electrical, civil and systems engineering principles across field and office work.

You will perform design calculations, prepare plans, support traffic and safety studies, and help develop construction quantities while traveling as needed. ABET-accredited degree is required; EIT preferred; 0–5 years experience; travel willingness.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
  • EIT/EI certification preferred for civil engineering degree applicants.
  • 0–5 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, industrial, civil or systems engineering.
  • Ability to travel for field work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with traffic signal design, including CAD and field work.
  • Assist with traffic signal corridor retiming, including field work, implementation, and fine-tuning.
  • Assist with design computations and plan preparations.
  • Assist with other traffic and safety studies, including field work.
  • Assist in designing projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools.
  • Assist with developing the project quantities for construction cost estimate.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction.

Valid Driver’s License
Motor Vehicle screening

Education

ABET-accredited engineering degree
EIT/EI certification
Commitment to obtain EIT/EI within 6 months
